Yup!

Gonna Be A Bear
In this life, I’m a woman. In my next life, I’d like to come back as a bear. When you’re a bear, you get to hibernate. You do nothing but sleep for six months. I could deal with that.
Before you hibernate, you’re supposedto eat yourself stupid. I could deal withthat too.
When you’re a girl bear, you birth your children (who are the size of walnuts) while you’re sleeping and wake to partially grown, cute, cuddly cubs. I could definitely deal with that.
If you’re a mama bear, everyone knows you mean business. You swat anyone who bothers your cubs. If your cubs get out of line, you swat them too. I could deal with that.
If you’re a bear, your mate EXPECTS you to wake up growling. He EXPECTS that you will have hairy legs and excess body fat.
Yup, gonna be a bear!

Happy New Year to all!

Hello Fellow Teddy Bear Lovers. I hope you all had a wonderful, peaceful and happy holiday...and are now having a fabulous new year! It's hard to believe it's been over a month since I've blogged.

I started the year out interestingly...somehow...through every fault of my own...literally...on January 1st...deleting every single page of the Mostly Bears website. (With no easy backup system in place, I might add. Hem...happy new year to me!)

After about a week of sputzing around (yes, it's a made up word meaning puttering with a few choice phrases mixed in), I managed to restore about half the pages. And as I was preparing myself for the possibility that I was going to have to recreate the rest, I got a phone call from the tekkies at the server company saying they had completed a restoration of the entire site for me! Happy New Year to me again!

With the website back in business, now I can get back to blogging.

Recently, I got my hands on a new display case and have been busy organizing all the miniatures I have here at the store into this:
Oh what fun! It's wonderful to be able to really see these cool little dudes at last.

Now that we are into 2008, it's time for a new giveaway from Mostly Bears. Are ya' ready??

Here are the selections for this month:
# 1...Gund purse bear. This little plush bear has a flap pocket in the back and a grosgrain ribbon shoulder strap.

#2...a 12" pink ribbon plush Life bear from Gund.

#3...a little bear, named "Little Bear", from artist Sharon Barron. He's more beige and less pink than the photos indicates.

#4...last but not least. But smallest...a Bad Hair Day bear from Deb Canham. This lovely is appropriately named Tricky and is part of the 2004 collection.

#5...Oops, and here's one last bonus giveaway. A set of the current issues of Teddy Bear Review and Teddy Bear & Friends. If you'd like to enter the drawing, (we'll draw names sometime before Valentine's day), just leave a comment below or visit the Mostly Bears website...which is working just dandy nowadays, I might add...here. Just click on "join mailing list" to get yourself entered.

Best of luck to everyone!

Er, Big Bears

Every so often, something really exciting happens at Mostly Bears. Today was definitely one of those days!
First UPS pulled up with their freight truck. And took this out from the back:
Yes, friends, a pallet of bears! And that's a real interesting packing job...creative, I'd say.
I asked the UPS guy if this was the only pallet of bears he had delivered today and he chuckled. I'll take that as a yes.
And here's the first look at the first bear of the group:
And a quick group photo:Not everyone was completely secure in the "new guy's" presence:
Including the three wise bears:
All's well that ends well:
A really amazing bear!

P.S. Oh, and here's a couple of fresh faces from DCAD especially for Groupie D.G. Aren't they just the cutest little jesters?
Enjoy!
