New FUNdraiser! "Octobearfest" Day One...

Our fall fundraiser is officially underway. This year's recipient will be Tours of Peace, a nonprofit humanitarian organization (founded in 1998, in Tucson) which provides programs to help veterans and families heal and recover from the trauma of the Vietnam War. Among other things, TOP offers opportunities for veterans and/or their families to travel to Vietnam on humanitarian missions, visiting places of significance to them and at the same time giving back to the local communities. I hope you'll visit their website at http://www.topvietnamveterans.org/ and join us in our efforts to raise some money for this very deserving program.

There will be three ways to help raise $$ for TOP. The first will be here on the blog. We will be hosting a month-long "bear sale"... which we're calling Octobearfest... (catchy, huh?) We'll be showcasing a different bear or animal, specially priced, each day here on the blog. For every piece sold, $5 will go to TOP.

As an added incentive, all buyers will be entered into a drawing to win a Steiff Christmas ornament, which we'll draw during our artist signing on November 15th.

(Second added incentive, all buyers will receive a Limited Edition Halloween blank note card, featuring my own photography and made by me... I can't show them to you until I make a quick run to Michaels'... but they're going to be cool :)

Online Teddy Bear Trunk Show May 8th & 9th at Mostly Bears

The Bear Scout's trunk show at Mostly Bears in March was a fun event! Since our online friends weren't able to attend, Felicia and I got together and took photos of all the bears in the show and will present an online trunk show on May 8th and 9th. The Mostly Bears Online Trunk Show will open at 9 am PST on May 8th and will run until 5 pm on May 9th. See creations from all the artists represented by The Bear Scout. We will be offering free shipping on all items. Hope you can join us!
