Hello all! Thanks for all your entries to win some free Boyds stuff from Boyd's Bear Country!
I have finally gotten around to drawing the winners and here they are:
"Beginner Knitter" won Sweatshirt Bear Country bear, Getty:
"Lizard Knits" won Dressed Bear Country bear exclusive Mindy and Babykins:
Dorothy won Boyds Bears Checkbook Cover:
Janet won a Boyd's Bear Country T-shirt:

Congratulations!

And now, here's a little bit of store news:

We will be closed from Saturday August 4 through Saturday August 11th, reopening Wednesday August 15th. We'll be heading to San Diego for a little fun in the sand and to attend the ABC teddy bear show.

It's been a little like Christmas around here, getting some of our Steiff orders in. Here's a sampling of a few of the goodies:

The Sound of Music (musical bear plays, what else, The Sound of Music):

The Country Mouse and the City Mouse. (What a pair!):

Also, Frosty Bear (plays Frosty the Snowman) and new ornaments Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, Panda Cub and Elephant on Wheels.

On the Bear Making Front, we tried out hand painting wings for angel bears during the last two Wednesdays here in the store. Mary Ann has the process pretty well perfected now and will have some of her lovely angel bears available in San Diego and also at Mostly Bears in August.

We had a great class a couple of weekends ago with Mary Ann, in which several bear makers (some brand new) completed just the cutest little bears with apple pincushions. A fun weekend was had by all! We are hoping to have Mary Ann back sometime in the fall for a holiday bear making class. (I'll try to post photos from the class next time.)

Until then, bear hugs all 'round!

Bear Store Happenings!
Coming up next weekend, the 14th and 15th of July, Mary Ann Neisz will offer a fun bear making class for beginners through experienced bear makers. This is the little gal we'll be making (felt apple pincushion and all)...
If you live in Arizona or intend to be here next weekend and would like to take the class, we still have two slots available. Just call or email us! (Contact info at our website, http://www.mostlybears.com/)

Here's a little Build A Bear that a customer brought in to show me today. Can you guess she's a Red Sox fan(atic)?!

Ooh, I couldn't resist having Mary Ann's "Bear-with-an-attitude ~ Tucker" model my socks-in-progress for an online knitalong blog...he didn't seem to mind!
