Sightseeing Photos

Here's some random photos from Boston and NYC for your viewing pleasure!

First up is the John Harvard statue at Harvard University in Cambridge: And then there's the photo of me rubbing the foot for good luck!(which was taken before I found the following tidbit of information on Wikipedia):"The John Harvard Statue is a frequent target of pranks, hacks, and humorous decorations. Moreover, Harvard students are rumored to urinate on the very foot that tourists rub for good luck." Ick!

And then there's some Harvard architecture:

Everybody loves a good library:

And an irresistable-to-kids fountain on campus!

And in Boston, Trinity Episcopal Church is dwarfed by the John Hancock building:
Another view of the John Hancock building:

And here's Fenway Park from the top of the Prudential building:

And a view of Boston, also from the top of the Prudential building:

Then, moving on to NYC, a view from the Empire State Building on a hazy day: A visit to St. Patrick's Cathedral:And Darth Vader made from Legos at FAO Schwartz:

OK, so my granddaughter picked out a Steiff hamster at FAO...I said, don'tcha want to buy that one from Nana at Mostly Bears? But, you know that little hamster was so soft and so cute, it just had to go home with her.
Now our sightseeing is over, our kids and grandkids have gone home and we are on our own and on the road again. Tonight we are in Vermont, in a tree-covered campground, the weather is cool and we are looking at our Canadian maps. Onward!
