For decades, Teddy Poverman sat at the foot of the staircase in the Poverman home in New Haven, CT — dressed in festive garb, greeting family members and visitors as they arrived to celebrate various holidays. To reflect this celebratory spirit, he wears an airbrushed, aged vest embroidered with holiday symbols—heart, a flag, and a Shamrock—symbolizing just some holidays for which he was dressed throughout the years. (Our Steiff Family Heirloom Series pays tribute to Teddies with interesting stores and that led fascinating lives.)
