New FUNdraiser! "Octobearfest" Day One...

Our fall fundraiser is officially underway. This year's recipient will be Tours of Peace, a nonprofit humanitarian organization (founded in 1998, in Tucson) which provides programs to help veterans and families heal and recover from the trauma of the Vietnam War. Among other things, TOP offers opportunities for veterans and/or their families to travel to Vietnam on humanitarian missions, visiting places of significance to them and at the same time giving back to the local communities. I hope you'll visit their website at and join us in our efforts to raise some money for this very deserving program.

There will be three ways to help raise $$ for TOP. The first will be here on the blog. We will be hosting a month-long "bear sale"... which we're calling Octobearfest... (catchy, huh?) We'll be showcasing a different bear or animal, specially priced, each day here on the blog. For every piece sold, $5 will go to TOP.

As an added incentive, all buyers will be entered into a drawing to win a Steiff Christmas ornament, which we'll draw during our artist signing on November 15th.

(Second added incentive, all buyers will receive a Limited Edition Halloween blank note card, featuring my own photography and made by me... I can't show them to you until I make a quick run to Michaels'... but they're going to be cool :)
Here's our Octobearfest offering for October 1st:

A 6 1/2 inch kitty, made from grey mohair, with pale pinkish ear linings... jointed, bent paws, glass eyes & a cute single bell collar. From artist Jun Watanabe, J's Bears. Priced for Octoberfest at $90.

Click "Add to Cart" to purchase. (secure shopping cart)

$5 of this purchase will go to TOP. Thanks in advance!

Oh, almost forgot. The other two ways to help FUNdraise for TOP are...

1) Buy Raffle tickets for an amazing Steiff German Shepard puppy... Tickets are $1 & are available on the website.
& 2) Attend our artist event on November 15th and buy some bears! 10% of all purchases will be donated to TOP.
You can see all the details in the October newsletter here :)
Enjoy! And thanks in advance!
